Atlantech Online Opens Rockville Data Center
Silver Spring, MD - Feb. 20, 2012 - Atlantech Online, Inc., a provider of telecommunications and data center services, today announced the opening of its second Internet data center in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The company’s decision to expand its data center operations is driven by strong demand for data center services and interconnection in the Mid-Atlantic region. Atlantech’s existing Silver Spring Internet data center is more than 95% occupied.
The new facility is now open and has several initial anchor commercial tenants. The facility will primarily support the growth of Atlantech’s server collocation business. The facility adds approximately 10,000 gross square feet of space and 130 cabinets to Atlantech’s data center portfolio. Located at the southern end of the I-270 corridor, the facility is ideally located for collocation deployment in addition to the opportunity to interconnect with major telecommunications networks. Businesses in the I-270 corridor region will find the facility to be an excellent alternative to the expense and effort of building and operating its own data center facility. Additionally, those with a primary location in Northern Virginia or in the Baltimore metro area will have an accessible and affordable option for a secondary or Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery (BCDR) facility.
