Atlantech's First Lit Building in Howard County

For the first time, Atlantech Online has lit with fiber a building in Howard County, MD. 10710 Charter Drive, Columbia, MD 21044 is now connected to the Atlantech Online regional fiber network. The addition of the building in Howard County illustrates the expansion of the Atlantech network into areas that have been underserved and demand more bandwidth.

Known as Medical Pavilion, 10710 Charter Drive is situated on the Howard County General Hospital campus, a Johns Hopkins Medicine facility, and adjacent to Howard Community College. The building is Howard County's premier medical office building. As demand for bandwidth continues to skyrocket, adding fiber to medical office buildings has become imperative. Many practices are adding telemedicine capability and have replaced paper file systems with electronic health record software systems to better treat patients. Consumer grade cable Internet access has proven insufficient to meet bandwidth demand, and the deficiencies have become even more pronounced during the coronavirus global pandemic. Having access to enterprise-grade fiber with symmetrical bandwidth options and comprehensive service level agreements have become primary demands by medical practice groups.

Medical Pavilion now offers tenants the ability to access high speed Internet bandwidth at very affordable prices. Additionally, Atlantech's Hosted PBX service can be utilized by tenants. Tenants using Microsoft Teams can use Teams as a softphone on Atlantech's Hosted PBX platform. Lastly, tenants can access AWS, Azure, Google as well as other cloud providers using the Atlantech Online Cloud Connect service.

"Atlantech Online has worked diligently on lighting all Class A office buildings inside the Capital Beltway and up the I-270 corridor. Our success has created demand for our service in other areas. Some of these locales, such as Howard County, have been traditionally underserved by the national telecom carriers.  Our intention is to continue to fill in these gaps and you can expect to see more buildings being added to our regional fiber network as we move back towards the new normal," stated Ed Fineran, President of Atlantech Online.

If your company is looking to move into 10710 Charter Drive, please give us a call today for a consultation on your telecom requirements and how Atlantech Online can best meet them.
