Atlantech Online is pleased to announce that completed construction of a new fiber ring in downtown Bethesda, MD. The fiber ring connects over a dozen commercial office buildings to the Atlantech Online network. Tenants of the buildings can connect to a switch in their building and signup for Internet connectivity, telephone service or even point-to-point circuits to other parts of the region, such as data centers. Each building has two fiber entry paths with 10 GigE of throughput available. The ring has two separate egress points, one to the west and one to the east to insure and maximize uptime of the network. With the addition of these buildings, Atlantech Online now has over 115 fiber lit buildings in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
