Atlantech Online, Inc. Lights 11400 Rockville Pike with Fiber

by Tom Collins

Atlantech Online announced today the installation of fiber into 11400 Rockville Pike, adding another Class A office building to our portfolio of "lit" buildings in the DC Metro region. With fiber on site, tenants at 11400 Rockville Pike can take advantage of high speed Internet access at attractive price points when compared to currently available telecommunication circuits. For instance, tenants can enjoy dedicated Ethernet connections at 100 Mbps or 1000 Mbps starting for as low as $750 per month. Many other bandwidth options are available at various price points. Additionally, tenants will be able to enjoy flat rate business phone service delivered via Atlantech’s fiber network and be on-net with our Hosted PBX service.

We took an innovative path into the building. Because we have lit fiber in the buildings surrounding 11400 Rockville Pike, we were able to install conduit along an outer building structure and then create a path over a recently re-designed breezeway to pull fiber into the building and terminate into our switch. This design helped keep the cost down which will translate into savings for tenants. It also adds to the attractiveness of the building as the outside plant is not visibily noticeable but it adds value to the address that is right across the street from the new development activity at the former White Flint Mall.

"We looked at offering this valuable service to office buildings along Rockville Pike and found 11400 Rockville Pike to be an excellent property," stated Ed Fineran, President of Atlantech Online. "In real estate, location is everything. Just as having an address at a Metro station increases value, being located on a fiber artery gives a building a huge competitive advantage and provides tremendous value to tenants," continued Fineran.

Atlantech Online has already signed up a tenant for service and invites all remaining tenants of the building to start saving money and eliminating bottlenecks with their current Internet and telephone access offerings.
