Disk2Disk Backup and Data Storage
The Disk2Disk Service is a fault-tolerant and
securely encrypted data backup process for
individual files, file systems, databases, and
applications on customer servers. Intended for
those enjoying our data center services, Atlantech
Online will consult with the customer, assess backup
requirements, administer disk backup, and provide
restoration of files upon request. The backups will
be performed using Symantec NetBackup software as
the agent on the server. Backups go directly to
disk using the SAN solution in the Atlantech
Online Internet Data Center (IDC).
Requirements:
- Windows 2000, XP, Server 2003, Red Hat (or CentOS) Linux 3.0 or greater
- A second, dedicated network card (NIC)
- Temporary administrative access to the server for Symantec NetBackup
client installation (Atlantech can install and test this for you at
no additional cost)
Standard Services Include:
- Backups are done daily from midnight to 2am, and run in the background
while your server operates normally. No downtime is required for any
application or service.
- Backups are kept on site for 7 days. Each Sunday, one backup is kept
for 30 days on site.
- One Sunday a month, a backup is kept on site for 60 days. Afterwards,
it is shipped off site to secure location for 1 year. Atlantech uses
Iron Mountain for its offsite storage.
- Customers must notify the Data Backup support staff in writing to make
additions of new file names, file systems and applications directories
for backup.
- 24x7 technical and operation support will process any restoration request,
often having your files restored by the next business day (files over 2
months old may need to get them from tape for a nominal fee).
