Atlantech Online Announces Successful Completion of SSAE 16 Type II Audit

Rigorous third-party review validates Atlantech Online’s commitment to providing the highest levels of security and environmental controls to its data center and connectivity customers.

SILVER SPRING, MD - August 22, 2012 - Atlantech Online, Inc., a provider of telecommunications and data center services, today announced that its data centers have achieved Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) No. 16 Type II standards compliance. Assessed by auditors from Linford & Co. of Denver, Colorado, the successful report demonstrates Atlantech Online’s commitment to the highest standards of operational excellence for its customers.

The audits, which were conducted at Atlantech’s Headquarters and Silver Spring and Rockville data centers, determined that all of its sites meet or surpass SSAE16 standards for physical security and environmental controls. The certification is of particular importance to Atlantech's financial services customers, for which SSAE 16 compliance is often a requirement.

SSAE No. 16 is a new reporting standard for services organizations put forth by the Auditing Standards Board (ASB) of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). SSAE 16, which replaces Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS70), addresses engagements undertaken by a service auditor for reporting on controls at service organizations (e.g., data center providers) that provide services to user entities, for which a service organization's controls are likely to be relevant to a user entity’s internal control over financial reporting.
