Software Engineering Position:

Software Engineer

Atlantech Online, Inc. (AOI) is seeking an experienced programmer to join our team as a full-time staff programmer. The selected programmer will be maintaining/developing code for AOI internal business systems.

Responsibilities:

As an AOI Software Engineer, you will:

• Develops new applications.
• Test applications.
• Document applications, databases, files, and data structures (system/program documentation, end user documentation).
• Create code and documentation that meets AOI standards.
• Work with AOI staff to plan program code enhancements and changes.
• Create reports using SQL.
• Assist other members of the AOI Software Engineering staff as may be needed.
• Other duties as may be assigned by your supervisor.

Required Skills:

All experience must be professional experience, not academic experience. Job skill related intern experience may be considered as professional experience.

• PHP - 2 or more years experience. Comfortable working in both traditional and OO envronments.
• SQL - 2 or more years experience with MS SQL and/or PostgreSQL.
• Perl – 2 or more years experience.
• HTML – 2 or more years experience.
• CSS – 2 or more years experience.
• Javascript – 1 or more years experience.
• Linux – 1 or more years experience.
• Ability to apply technical standards, principles, theories and techniques to solve problems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Additional Skills:

• Experience writing system/program documentation.
• Experience writing end user documentation.
• Ajax – Some experience with direct, indirect, and component Ajax frameworks.
• Some Linux system administration experience.

Desired Traits:

• Enjoy working with others in a team atmosphere.
• Ability to work independently on projects as needed.
• Have a “customer service” orientation.
